Sky just replayed the 2010, Abu Dhabi GP - and I felt for Alonso so much, though not even being an SF Fan

anyone have more painful experiences - I reckon Forza has a few Smile

Hi guys,
maybe nice to share, some pictures from wintertesting (2011, but still) where I was lucky enough to get invited into the pitbox from our Enstone boys. I was only allowed to take one picture though, I did see the front exhaust system however :-)

Does anyone have any recommendations for good F1/Racing-related books?

I’ve recently finished the Jenson Button biography (Life to the Limit) and am currently about half way through Adrian Newey’s (How to Build a Car) and am looking for the next one to add to my reading list.

While we’re on the subject, I can thoroughly recommend:
‘The Mechanic’s Tale’ & ‘Life in the Fast Lane’ by Steve Matchett, former Benneton F1 pit crew (Fog, you'll enjoy those if you haven't already!)
‘Aussie Grit’ by Mark Webber
‘A Championship Year’ by Jenson Button
And for a bit of a laugh, there’s always the Sniff Petrol season previews!

I have the Damon Hill bio too but struggled to get going with it, and surprisingly for me, Michael Schumacher - The Edge of Greatness by James Allen too.  Sad

so do we think we're getting to the stage where a gamer / sim driver will make it into F1?

I'm not convinced

So we’ve had the mandatory support for the current complex hybrids from Ferrari’s chums (Haas and Sauber), we’ve had the obligatory “losing the HGU-H would be a backwards step” from the Honda works team formally know as Baby Red Bull... and now... now we have Force India playing their part for Mercedes:

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/133203...f-44716315

That essentially leaves Red Bull grumbling on their own, and Williams officially saying no comment. McLaren won’t wade in I’d warrant until they see how good or bad the Renault engine is. It’s looking more and more like the teams and manufacturers are closing ranks on the heat recovery elements. Thoughts?

When this was first mooted back at the start of 2016 it seemed a very, very long way off, but Marchionne seems keen, and has been pushing this very hard throughout 2017. It appears Haas have flatly refused the link up (and the baggage of having to bed in Ferrari’s junior drivers) it now seems we might see the red white and green Alfa livery on the Sauber:

I for one would welcome the name back to the sport, and the boost in competitively it would give Sauber (if the rumoured gearboxes etc thing is also true). They’d also potentially benefit from using Maranello’s wind tunnels and FD Center. Plus seeing Leclerc and Giovinazzi on the grid would be great. Sad to lose Wehrlein, but not so sad to see Marcus go.

Gary Anderson says there are 6 reasons

I can think of 2 reasons - the other drivers in the mix, Kvyat and Di Resta

3) he has the experience for that team

but as I couldn't read the article, was subscription only on both sites I found it on, any opinions? or has anyone seen the Anderson interview/ article?

So given that we all know better than Liberty / Bernie / the teams or anyone else actually involved in F1 - what rules / regs would you set?

Engines, Aero, etc, etc

I'd have - refuelling back, and two tyre Manufacturers, I quite enjoyed the tyre wars  Idea
