Hi guys,
maybe nice to share, some pictures from wintertesting (2011, but still) where I was lucky enough to get invited into the pitbox from our Enstone boys. I was only allowed to take one picture though, I did see the front exhaust system however :-)

That's awesome Rene and great snooping with getting the exhaust in the back of the truck haha, you should have sold it to the other teams ;-)
I am considering going for the first time next season :-)

Yeah, that was pretty cool to see, even the people who where invited (sponsors) were not allowed behind the big screens and I got to see the car "naked", was pretty awesome. At the time when Renault F1 was active they had a very good forum where one of the press officer reacted on as well, and quite often. We kept in contact and he got me into the box that day, only I had to put my camera and cellphone away and promise not to say anything about that exhaust. I got to make a picture from that helmet cabinet, so I had some proof I had been there :-)

Superb Rene. Some great ones amongst those. I might put up a few from my visit to COTA in 2015, but they are nowhere near as good as yours. Mostly taken from distance and not very clear.

Morini, that is why I rather go to wintertesting instead of a race. It's cheaper and 8 hours action a day, plus you can go and sit where you want basically.
Foghorn, yeah pretty lucky there, there press officer is a very nice guy, works at another team now though.

I`m with you on that one, I too much prefer to go to testing for those reasons, fantastic day(s) out for a fraction of the cost.

Willing to give it a go at some point as an opportunity of getting closer to the cars. But I have to say I wouldn't get too excited about just watching cars testing for a full day. Not like there's much action to watch, and it's the atmosphere that makes a race weekend as much as the race itself.
Having said that, I do watch free practice on the telly when given the chance. That's not much different to testing days really.

A few days away, sitting in the sun with a beer in my hand watching F1 cars for the best part of a full day from just about anywhere or even above the pits for just a few quid....wots not to like? (yes I do agree about the atmosphere though)
