Interesting take. Not sure I agree though as someone who likes to attend races in person I think the crowd is a big part of the whole "occasion" of a F1 race weekend.
If you want to watch a race then no question watching on the TV you see a lot more. If you want to experience the "full sensory" atmosphere then you really have to be there. I will bet the paddock workers are finding it very weird.
