I fully expect Mercedes and a few others to pay homage (copy / rip off) Ferrari's Sidepod / Lower deeper crash pod / side impact structures this season. It was clearly the most efficient solution, and coupled with the Mercs longer wheelbase and generally lower rake car (they definitely moved their take round last year more than most from track to track) it'll work wonders. Looking forward to seeing the evolution of both Ferrari's and Mercedes's concepts as I'm expecting significant convergence.
