22-year-old Leclerc joined Ferrari last season and immediately became a favourite of both the tifosi and the Italian media.
Showing fight even in the face of team orders, Leclerc was not only quick but willing to battle anyone – even his team-mate.
This season, to mark his growing popularity, he will have a grandstand named after him at both the Monaco and French GPs.
Am I the only one who thinks this is BS? Stands, corners, straights should only be named after drivers once they have retired. Or better still posthumously.
Yes, yes, I know I am a miserable old fart but this is stupid ego massaging. But then again, typical of the French.
