Stroll clearly seems to be on a different run. Probably want to do something special for his home race (just can't imagine what…).
Also I'm a bit surprised that Mercedes did not choose the maximum amount of hypersoft. Seem to prefer the ultrasofts.

What went on there Anti?
Merc seem to think the Ultra is going to be better than the Hyper then? That will be interesting to see unfold. Mind you, Ham is a bit of a specialist round Montreal, his rivals are probably hoping for one of his off weekends.

'Ricciardo to avoid Canada penalty'
Daniel Ricciardo is set to avoid a grid penalty at the Canadian GP after Renault determined his MGU-K is re-usable after it's issue in the Monaco GP, Auto Motor und Sport report.
It is claimed the issue in Sunday's race, which forced Ricciardo to drive over 50 laps with 25% less power on his way to victory, came around the assembly of his power unit and the component itself remains intact and undamaged.
Under F1 2018s regulations, each car is only permitted to use two MGU-K, energy stores and control electronics, so Ricciardo would have been facing a 10-place grid penalty in Montreal had he required a new MGU-K. His first one was damaged in his Practice Three engine failure at the Chinese GP.
Red Bull introduced a third MGU-K to Max Verstappen's pool in Monaco, given the Dutchman was already starting last which negated his penalty.

Good! Pleased to hear that.
But I fear he's heading for a penalty at some point. Load of nonsense stringing these components out for so many races. I reckon it makes negligible difference in cost, but makes the WDC more of a lottery.

Red Bull might not get upgraded engine in Canada....
"We've a new spec engine," Renault Sport F1 boss Cyril Abiteboul told Motorsport.com.
"We have yet to confirm the introduction, because the mileage is not the same across all cars, so we will see where and when exactly we will introduce that new spec.
"I think we have six engines available, subject to the last event on procurement in the supply chain.
"That's the plan, but not sure it's actually the best to introduce it in all six cars, in particular Red Bull. We need to look into that. We always work in partnership with teams, trying to do the best for the overall season result.
"It's a small gain in power, although we know we won't be the only one. It's mainly in the ICE that we can expect more power. This has to be the focus, and it will be the focus for all of this year, and maybe next year."
Red Bull boss Christian Horner suggested that any improvement from Renault is welcome."We're hoping for a reliable MGU-K," he said. "There is a small upgrade coming for Montreal – every bit we need at the moment, so that's hugely important for us."

Middle finger to Red Bull? after all the "nice things" Horner & Marko have said about Renault it wouldn't surprise me if Renault accidently threw a spanner in Red bull's decision over Renault or Honda as their engine supplier, from what I have read I'm not convinced Renault even want to continue with Red Bull, personally I wouldn't blame them.

Whether true or not but Renault comment " Merc and Ferrari wont supply RedBull so why should we" I found funny. Too right Renault! I think if RedBull were happy with what Honda were showing, they decision would of met the May deadline.
I think we knew RedBull weren't getting the Renault upgrade for Canada a while ago, didn't we? Whether it was RB decision or whether RIC engine failure in China had something to do with it. Max could take the new ICE, if RIC did it would guarantee a penalty later in the season.

Third DRS zone added. Although the official F1 website is yet to state this, or provide an updated map.
Detection zone just after turn 5.
DRS zone between turn 7 & 8.
It could help along the back straight, but powering out of 6 and following through turn 7 is difficult. Turn 8 is an awkward corner, narrow and sharp. If cars are side-by-side going into it, usually one runs off the road. No punishment for running off, just a simple driver round a bollard, unless that have added some destructive humps.
Edit: First post map updated, after F1 site finally got its shit together.
