Seems no one's complaining, once they gain an advantage things will change lol.

Papa, it is within the rules as long as there are no engine maps specifically designed to 'blow exhaust gases onto aerodynamic parts'. Renault and the FIA say there aren't, then the teams have no grounds for complaint. If it offers an advantage you can bet that teams will follow suit. Although I think most are more likely to be looking at McLaren's rear suspension and you can't have the McLaren style suspension I figure with the Renault exhaust.

Sooooo... I'm smugly going to say seeing the lock ups and instability on turn after long straights that I was right, the Renault team are trying to stall their rear wing, and given how their rear end wants to step out all the time... it is affecting the diffuser. Both drivers had hairy moments where the rear end just wasn't there, although Hulkenbergs was the most dramatic / scary. It'll be interesting to see if Renault can fix that though... because straight line speed suggests it's working.

After race 1 and yes it is early days Williams look like they are in for a rough ride this year. Stroll doesnt seem the right person for me to lead the Williams team unfortunately for this once great team they are relying purely on "pay drivers" this season im sure in business terms its the only way to go forward currently. I think personally they needed some experience thrown in there also. On Renault always been a strong engine in the past and look to have struggled like many on the hybrid era. They have a good lineup imo. They have the money and resources but to catch Mercedes and Ferrari will take time and some regulation changes me thinks. Apologies but im not that technical so forgive my lacking of knowledge in these areas.
Can someone explain on Papas original link why are the FIA so strict to negate advantages here? Would the. Advantages blow over teams away? Or is it just a regulation thing on the Hybrid era?
