2020 Russian GP - morini - 13-09-2020

I won't be able to watch this one, but a VB track if ever there was one. Can he hit back?

RE: 2020 Russian GP - Jody Barton - 13-09-2020

Well Bottas is a bit of a Sochi specialist. If he doesn't get pole and the win in Russia I don't see him winning again this season... or maybe next. Lewis is crushing him completely and quite frankly I don't think Bottas has an answer.

Nobody is going to come even close to matching Mercedes here. The midfield is where the fun is at this season and its been awesome to watch!

Don't think anyone will get close to Mercedes (on merit anyway) in any of the 8 events remaining despite the sports management desperately trying to cripple the front runners. The car appears better in all areas, not just power and of course they also have the best driver on the grid. Really wasn't expecting such total dominance at the end of a rules cycle. I guess it shows how much Ferrari had to cheat to keep up last couple of years? Also shows Red Bull were nowhere near as good as all their talk over winter testing. Seb Vettel's youngest WDC record is safe as Max Verstappen will be too old next year.

People who don't enjoy the dominance also have something to enjoy as we can all watch with interest whether or not McLaren can stay third in the WCC. I hope they do but RP are hot on their heels.

Does anyone like this track? Don't think I can remember any of the races which means they were forgettable.

RE: 2020 Russian GP - NeilP - 15-09-2020

I like it in the Codemasters game as its one track I can actually navigate with some degree of success (That said its been 3 years or more since I last played).

In reality, no it is very bland. It is a circuit that is forced into a road layout rather than a real race track (as all street circuits are but this is worse than say Baku and Singapore but hey its better than Monaco.) It is also there because its Russia and potentially a big market for F1. It is another circuit that being on pole is a disadvantage (sound familiar?).

RE: 2020 Russian GP - Antilochos - 21-09-2020

I noticed I am getting used to F1 every weekend. Felt a bit weird yesterday...

Anyway, to get the talking going again on here, who do you think for third in Sochi?
We all know who will be 1 and 2, so that is not that interesting (yeah, maybe Bottas has a change, but I doubt it he manage; he is just not good enough and Hamilton is enjoying this car a lot!). Normally I would say Verstappen, but it seems not everything is right there, with his engine. If all goes well, he takes it. If not, can Albon be there again?
How will the Racing Points be at that track?
Can Ricciardo spoil Racing Points points again?
McLaren any change for P4 or P5?
Ferrari any change for some points at all?

Netflix Drive to Survive will be focusing on Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton as he prepares to equal Michael Schumacher's 91 race win tally at this weekends Sochi race.........I hope they bring them as much luck as they did last time they camped out with them Wink

Yeah Anti, I have really enjoyed having so many motorsport filled weekends back to back......F1, Motogp, World Superbike & British Superbikes....dont think there has been a single weekend without some form of racing since the first week of July.

Is this Netflix series worth giving another go? Got about 10 minutes in to first episode but gave up on it as it was boring me. It is still in my continue watching list but usually don't have problems finding other stuff so have the ignored it up until now.
Perhaps time to give it a second chance?
