RE: 2020 Spanish GP - Jody Barton - 15-08-2020

No criticism of you Forza, or indeed the source, whoever it is, just can't find the source. Do you have the link?

Touchy! Or what?

Is it a reputable source then? You haven't really said. I was just pointing out that I (personally) have not seen it in the mainstream media (yet). Amus is Tobi Grüner isn't it? What makes him a reputable source?

RE: 2020 Spanish GP - Jody Barton - 15-08-2020

Found the article:

https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/formel-1/f1-motoren-anpassung-abschaffung-quali-modus/

Given there's no corresponding FIA direct request been published yet I don't know what to make of it. Might be true, and the FIA are trying to keep it hush, hush, but honestly that'd be strange. However, given how poor the FIA have been on the technical side of things for the past two seasons... well... I wouldn't put it past them. Bizarre as hell if none of the other media sources pick it up.

RE: 2020 Spanish GP - Antilochos - 15-08-2020

So, who of the two Mercedes drivers will take pole?

RE: 2020 Spanish GP - forzaferrari - 15-08-2020

Im not being "touchy" as you put it Morini, the f*cking post clearly states Amus and yeah they imo are usually not far off the mark on these things, and for the record at NO point did I say this was aimed at Mercedes or any other team, you guys have made that assumption, I have no idea what team (if any) this has been aimed at as It also clearly states another of the 4 manufactures.

RE: 2020 Spanish GP - Jody Barton - 15-08-2020

It could be the homologation request from August 2nd. That's because teams aren't allowed to change engine spec this season, and a number of runners have put new motors in their cars, which the FIA have asked to see original full CAD drawings so they can ensure any new engines fitted aren't actually new specs. If it is that then this article is a lot of noise about nothing.

RE: 2020 Spanish GP - Antilochos - 15-08-2020

Just wait for more info guys. No point in guessing which team cheated this year. We don't even know IF a team has cheated.

RE: 2020 Spanish GP - Jody Barton - 15-08-2020

Anti my prediction for pole is Bottas, I just hope Vettel puts in a better showing today.

Well, if you mean the article Jody has now linked to (I read that one after your initial post) and, google translate accepted, that doesn't mention any whistleblowing. It appears to be an article about banning quali modes which we already know is under consideration. It was the whistleblowing part which lead me to believe someone (maybe merc, maybe not) is doing something illegal.

You may or may not be right about Amus. The guy running it comes across as a liker of "one upmanship". A bit like Benson in that respect, actually.
