Hi Anti, nice to see you on here. Hope things are all good with you and your family.

It has been very quiet on here with no F1 to talk about, but I see most of the regulars are still signing in occasionally even if they are not posting.

Good to hear you guys are healthy. Same here, family is healthy (but now lice have spread among some friends of my little son, so we get that spreading faster than corona...).
And don't feel bad about your MP PapaofGags, it is not much different over here (or almost anywhere for that matters). Think you must be a dick to even qualify as politician.

Hope those fellow forum members that are not here are healthy and will be back as soon as racing starts.
Seems like Austria will be the first circuit to kick it of this year, since also the drivers association gave the green light for this last Friday.
This is such a weird season, wonder how it all plays and.

The British Grand Prix is under threat this year because of a financial stand-off between Formula 1 and Silverstone.

I hear you bud, getting to the point I would sell the kids to watch a few races!

You can see the dilemma though, running races with no crowds. The circuits basically lose their gate revenue (and all the associated side earners) but F1 still stands to earn out of the media rights. The circuits have to take a decent chunk from LM otherwise it's not commercially worth their while.

Hope it gets sorted though as we've been waaaay too long without any F1 action. Christ, I'd even watch winter practice again it's getting that desperate.

RE: Slow news month - forzaferrari - 15-05-2020

Several Belgian media outlets reporting Spa have been given the green light to organize the Belgian GP behind closed doors at the end of August by political authorities. "If there are Grand Prix in Europe, there will be a Grand Prix at Francorchamps, we are currently in talks with Liberty media regarding the financial aspect, we have an agreement in principle and providing we do not see a second wave of the virus we will race as scheduled in Spa."

In addition to Belgium, Austria, England as far as F1 and Silverstone agree on financial terms, Hungary and probably Spain where the Catalan government seems ready to untie the purse strings, would be on the program. Germany would be in reserve just in case.

Rest of Italy. A special case where the role of Ferrari is preponderant, undoubtedly part of more global negotiations.

As for the rest of the season outside Europe, nothing is really certain yet.

As in Europe, everyone has now agreed behind closed doors, it is different on other continents where some, such as Japan for example, refuse to consider a Grand Prix without an audience.
