Max is getting better and better. As to Leclerc, so far he's had no races where he hasn't gone off track multiple times and hit other cars. Even his best drives Bahrain and Spa he hit his team mate and repeatedly out breaked himself respectively. We can't judge him too harshly though, he's learning his trade in red, which is some serious pressure.
