Not sure whats going on, when I first read the tweet in Spanish it says "Haas & Alfa" but now reading the english tweet it says "Haas & Ferrari wont run new engine"

Mistake on the english translation. Haas and Alfa won't run the upgraded engine. Spanish version was ok. Sorry.

Well Haas and Alfa not running the engines makes sense. Although again Ferrari will have had to offer them to their customers... who would obviously decline them. It'll be interesting to see where the new engine puts Ferrari. Initially they were saying their PU upgrades would focus on reliability for spec 2 and spec 3... they're now saying they're going for more power. I'm not entirely sure how it'll play out. I just hope it works.
Just seems to me that Ferrari are all over the shop and desperately scrambling, because on race pace in three of the four races so far they have actually been behind both Mercedes and Red Bull.

Hoping the new engine is more to iron out issues (though a few more ponies wont go amiss) I am more anxious to see what other upgrades they bring and if they can sort the the drivability over a race length, to see if they help with better working the tyres etc

It'll be interesting to see if they stick with their aero concept, truth is it looks like on the front wing, bargeboard to sidepod design side of things RBR and Mercedes evolution of the outwash principle is the right way to go. I expecting most teams to converge there. However, Ferrari and Alfa have gone very different, and while it clearly works in a straight line, I'm not sure it is in corners,band the rear ends of both cars look unstable in most corners.

That actually isn't all that big of a surprise. Estimates put them between 30 to 40 bhp down on Honda, and yeah, at these levels that's not a HUGE difference but given Honda think they're down on Merc and Ferrari by more than that Renault could be triple figures off of the leading engines... and they have the worst reliability record on the grid. It's not good. They need a good engine upgrade way more than Ferrari do. Fingers crossed.

They haven't put a foot wrong with their developments for four years, so these WILL work. So, Ferrari and RBR need their upgrades to work, and work well, because if not they'll grind out a gap and keep their noses ahead at the bere minimum.

Seriously, if he turns out to be impartial and a half decent broadcaster perhaps they can sack the rest of the Sky team and leave it to him and Ant. At the very least they should sack Croft and cheer us all up. Perhaps Mrs M could step in for Croft? She knows f*ck all about F1 either, but at least she is only 50% as annoying!

Ferrari are pushing those new engines really hard.
Teams seem to be converging towards the Merc and RBR front wing solutions, even Ferrari seem to be shifting that direction. And turns out the Mercedes update is even bigger than the Autosport article suggested. Lewis is clearly doing fixed speed runs, and it's Bottas being given the performance runs.
This weekend is make or break for Ferrari, they either put up or shut up.
